Eirtech Aviation Services achieves EASA STC, expanding access to Universal’s data communications capabilities for A320 operators.
Tucson, Arizona – October 29, 2026 – Universal Avionics (Universal) today announced that Eirtech Aviation Services has achieved EASA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval for Universal's data link solution on Airbus A320 family aircraft. The certification marks an important program milestone and gives airline operators a new path to equip A320 aircraft with advanced data communications capabilities.
Eirtech first selected Universal's UniLink™ UL-801 system for its A320 upgrade program in 2024. The certified solution is a cost-effective option to add ATN B1 (Aeronautical Telecommunications Network Baseline 1) Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) and airline operational messaging capabilities that help improve safety and efficiency for A320 operators. By replacing routine voice exchanges with text-based messaging, UniLink helps reduce pilot workload and potential communication errors while supporting more efficient flight planning, en-route operations, and airspace access in Europe.
