TAWS and Vision-1™ Databases

Universal Avionics Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) and Vision-1 Synthetic Vision System (SVS) Airport Database includes worldwide airports and runways. Airport Data is updated every 28-days and is available, on request, for download from Universal Avionics or for delivery on an annual subscription basis. Updating this database helps to improve the capabilities of your equipment and overall safety of flight.

Universal Avionics Terrain Database includes the latest terrain feature updates to increase the effectiveness of TAWS. The Terrain Database can be field-loaded in TAWS units operating Software Control Number (SCN) 10.5 or later.

Universal Avionics Vision-1 Terrain Database contains the latest terrain feature updates to increase the effectiveness of the SVS. This Terrain Database may also be field-loaded into Vision-1.

Airport Databases

Universal Avionics TAWS and Vision-1® Airport Database includes more than 11,000 airports and approximately 22,000 runways worldwide. The Airport Data Listing lists the airports in the Airport Database, and a list of airports with unknown datums is provided in Airports with Unknown Datums.

Airport Data is updated every 28 days and is available, on request, for download from UniNet, our Online Service Center, or for delivery on an annual subscription basis. Additional information and availability is described in the Announcement of the Availability of TAWS Airport Database Updates (SL2797) and Vision-1 Airport Database Updates (SL2798) documents.

Changes in the TAWS and Vision-1® Airport Database in the past calendar year and in the latest update are included in the Yearly Report and Current Cycle Report documents, respectively.

Universal Avionics Obstacle Database includes more than 450,000 obstacles worldwide. Obstacle data is updated four times per year, approximately every 84 days and is available for delivery on an annual subscription basis. The Obstacle Database can be field loaded in TAWS units. See the TAWS Service Bulletin for media availability and TAWS Load Instructions for applicable loading instructions.
